2021 Fall Intersession

Fall Intersession October 12 through 15

WHO:

REQUIRED:  All current 4th - 12th grade students who did not meet the “approaches” level on one or more STAAR / EOC tests in the spring of 2021 are required to attend intersession week all four days as part of House Bill 4545.  TEA House Bill 4545 FAQ - mandatory attendance requirements updated 8.26.21 (see #17)

All Kindergarten - 3rd grade students who scored below grade level on recent NWEA Map Growth reading or math tests are required to attend intersession week all four days.

Any PBTISD student who would like to “opt-in” may choose to attend all four days during intersession week.  Because of the amount of planning required and the benefit of attending, we are asking that all students who “opt in” do so for the full four days. The “opt-in” period will be from September 9-17, 2021.

WHAT:

Targeted grade-level instruction will be provided to participants.  Students with significant gaps from the previous year will also receive remediation support.  Students opting in without specific academic concerns will be provided enrichment opportunities.  Enrichment opportunities may include robotics, music, art, science experiments, coding, and much more.

WHEN:

All Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD campuses

WHY:

  • Students will attend two sessions each day for a total of eight sessions the week.
