2025 Marfa Invitational Meet Results

The Pecos Eagles left their mark at the Marfa Invitational on September 17, bringing home strong performances across all divisions. The highlight of the day came from the Varsity Boys, who swept the top spots and clinched a first-place team finish out of 104 runners.

Leading the charge was Cody Saldana, who blazed through the course in 17:09.71 to claim the individual title. He was closely followed by teammates Mauricio Villescas (2nd, 17:18.09), Jayden Hernandez (3rd, 17:20.02), and Ronaldo Zaleta (5th, 17:36.75), giving the Eagles a commanding presence in the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Jaiden Juarez (7th, 18:29.95) and Aiden Barragan (8th, 18:44.82), sealing a dominant victory for Pecos.

On the girls’ side, the Varsity Lady Eagles fought through a competitive field of 84 runners to earn 6th place as a team. Ariel Chavez (26th, 16:31.19) and Machinzee Crum (27th, 16:34.65) led the way with back-to-back finishes, while Mia Delgado (34th, 17:22.44) and Diana Delgado (36th, 17:31.56) kept Pecos in the mix. Additional contributors included Eli Urteaga (59th, 19:08.24), Jaklynn Jacobs (63rd, 19:24.34), and Camila Escamila (70th, 20:39.88).

At the middle school level, the JH Eagles gained valuable experience on the course. Ethan Sotelo led the boys, placing 56th out of 88 runners with a time of 17:59.63, followed by Ander Mendoza (69th, 19:41.57) and Leonidas Rodriguez (78th, 21:14.71). For the girls, Mackenna Crum paced the team with a 43rd-place finish in 19:54.19, alongside Brynn Sparkman (54th, 21:07.50), Alyssa Hernandez (64th, 22:37.81), and Kailyn Lozano (68th, 23:28.84).

The Eagles return home proud of their efforts, with the Varsity Boys making a statement as one of the top teams in West Texas.
