MONAHANS, TX (October 7, 2025)

The Pecos High School Swim Team made waves at the Monahans Tri-Meet, finishing second overall with a combined 186 points — behind Monahans (279) and ahead of Fort Stockton (92).

It marked the team’s first full-squad outing of the season, and their performance showed promise across both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.

“Finally had a full squad out, and we did well—especially considering I placed most athletes in off events,” said Coach Minjarez. “Our boys’ team is young, but this meet gave us a solid preview of where they can be competitive as the season progresses. The girls once again showed their depth, going point-for-point with Monahans in a close battle. They came up just short—edged out by only two points—but it was a strong showing overall. We’re looking forward to heading back to Monahans next Tuesday to face both Seminole and Monahans again.”
