These student-athletes set the tone for what it means to represent Pecos with pride, on the court, on the field, and in the classroom.

Zarilynn Archuleta โ€“ Volleyball, Senior

Zarilynn Archuleta, PBTISD CommunicationsZarilynn continues to be a driving force for Lady Eagle Volleyball. Her dedication, resilience, and heart have earned the respect of her teammates and coaches. For Zarilynn, being recognized means more than a title: โ€œIt means others see the work I put in and the potential I have.โ€

She says she shows up every day motivated by those who wish they had the opportunity to play but canโ€™t because of lifeโ€™s circumstances. Leadership, in her eyes, comes down to kindness and lifting others up, changing the game for her teammates one moment at a time.

A defender at the net, her favorite moments this season are crowd-lifting blocks and celebrating with her team. She also loved visiting younger students, sharing smiles and inspiration across campuses.

Her biggest inspiration? Her mom, the one who pushed her forward even when fear held her back.

Her advice to younger Eagles: โ€œEven when you want to quit, remember someone is looking up to you.โ€

Favorite hype song: "Mercy" by Lil Wayne

Zarilynn finishes with a message for Eagle Nation: โ€œThank you to everyone who voted for me, I truly appreciate it, and thank you PHS for having me in your program!โ€

Juan Ornelas โ€“ Football, Senior

A truJuan Ornelas, Zarilynn Archuleta, PBTISD Communicationse leader in Eagle football, Juan sets the example through action. To him, this honor reflects the love he has for the game and the effort he brings every single day. โ€œI love football and always give it my all every practice and every game. Iโ€™m forever grateful,โ€ he says.

Juan says his biggest motivation is his teammates, his โ€œbrothers.โ€ Adding, โ€œIf I work hard out there, they work hard out there.โ€

He defines leadership through action, not noise, showing it in the classroom, on the field, and anywhere he wears purple and gold.

Juan doesn't choose one favorite moment this season, because theyโ€™re all special to him. โ€œEvery time I step on the field with my brothersโ€ฆ thatโ€™s the best feeling in the world,โ€ he expressed.

He credits his mom for inspiring his journey, never missing a game and always pushing him forward.

His message to younger Eagles: โ€œGive your all in the classroom and in everything you do, that effort will always put you ahead.โ€

His game-day ritual? A clean room and prayer to start and finish the day.

And one more thing: โ€œGO EAGLESSS!!!โ€
