What a day at Zavala Elementary! 🎉 Our students had the *best* day ever filled with fun and learning! -Shoutout to our amazing second graders in Meiji Rodriguez's class for reaching BETTER THAN **96% attendance**! 🎉 Your dedication has earned you some well-deserved **extra recess time**! 🌟 Keep showing up and doing your best, Eagles! 🦅 - Some lucky students earned an exciting ride down our famous slide, Earnie! 🛝 They continue to go above and beyond as students and citizens. - Second graders got hands-on with science by experimenting with the physical states of matter. They also impressed us by presenting their math findings to their classmates—future scientists and mathematicians in the making! 🧪✏️ - Our fourth graders got creative by making a *candy salad* as part of their study on mixtures in science. 🍬🥗 Learning has never been so sweet! We’re so proud of our hardworking and curious students! 💡 Keep up the amazing work, Zavala Eagles! #BestDayEver #ZavalaElementary #AttendanceMatters #HandsOnLearning #ProudEagles

Yesterday, the kids at Zavala proudly wore red, white, and blue to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and to show gratitude for the bravery of first responders. It was a beautiful sight to see so many young hearts coming together in remembrance and unity. Let’s never forget the resilience and strength that emerged from such a tragic day. 🇺🇸 #NeverForget #911Remembrance #ZavalaStrong

📚 We are excited to welcome our Zavala students back! The doors will open at 7:15 AM with breakfast being served in the cafeteria starting at 7:30 AM. After breakfast, 3rd and 5th graders will stay in the cafeteria, while 2nd and 4th graders will head to the gym to wait for their teacher. Please note that parents will not be able to walk their child into Zavala. Tonight, locate your CarRider Pro tags and talk with your student about how they will be picked up. If they are a walker, ensure that you have let your student's teacher or the office know. Also, talk with them about the route they will be taking from school to their destination. Bus students must be registered to ride the bus with the Transportation Department. We are looking forward to a great year! 🌟 Remember, Zavala Elementary LOVES YOU! 💜💛
