This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy. This is a result of increased values across our area. To offset the additional amount, the District lowered the tax rate by 2 cents. Over the last five years, the District has lowered the tax rate by $0.125 (12 1/2 cents). We are committed to fiscal responsibility to our taxpayers.

The mission of Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District, the premier educational leader of West Texas, encompassing collective communities, is to inspire and empower each individual to achieve excellence, positively impact the community, and transform the world through a culture characterized by authentic relationships, shared responsibility and state-of-the-art learning environments.
