May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We are celebrating Childrenβs Mental Health Awareness Week from May 11 through May 14, 2026. Childrenβs Mental Health Day is May 8, 2025.
For Childrenβs Health Awareness Week, PBTISD encourages the district to participate in the following dress-up days:
π Monday β Mellow Monday
Getting 8 hours of sleep helps improve mood and relieve stress. Wear dress code appropriate pajamas.
π Tuesday β Twin Tuesday
Dress as twins with a friend to remind yourself that you are never alone.
π Wednesday β Wear Hawaiian Wednesday
Wear Hawaiian attire because summer vacation relieves stress!
π Thursday β T-Shirt Thursday
Wear a shirt with a positive saying or a Pecos Eagle shirt to show that Eagles are united for mental health.
PBTISD also encourages everyone to wear green every Wednesday throughout the month of May to show their support and raise awareness.

How to Talk About Mental Health
Mental health is essential to a personβs life in the same way as physical health. Hesitation to talk about mental health adds to the notion that the topic is taboo. Alongside
All PBTISD students grades 4-12 have access to Alongside through their student device and Google log-in. Alongside is an online platform that provides personalized 24/7 mental health support. If students express ideations or feelings of suicide campus administration and counselors are immediately notified to provide immediate care and interventions.
